Why

• Following on the great success of CodeFest2007, where we added OpenID support to 6 Open Source applications, this time, we will focus on adding or improving microformats to as many apps as possible.

While the title sponsor is phpQuébec (thank you!), the CodeFest is open to other programming languages. It will be a great opportunity to test real-World cases of having different open source apps in interaction. In fact, even better to have interaction between different languages!

There are several projects (described below). Developers can pick and choose (and even add one!) which projects they will work on.

Main projects

• Adding microformats to your favorite Web application (CMS, groupware, whatever). RobinMillette will be our coach.

  • hcalendar added to TikiWiki 1.10 and commited to CVS (Nelson and Yan Levasseur). You can see in production at http://wiki-translation.com/

  • hcalendar aggregator with Drupal http://cal.waglo.com/

  • Microformats (vcard, adr, vevent) added to NIGHTLIFE Magazine's calendar and directory.

  • hcard was added to the source code (thunk) of http://www.nomadics.it

Additional projects

• MediaWiki to TikiWiki converter (Evan & LPH) basic importer done and commited to CVS

• Workshop on how to integrate html/CSS templates into TikiWiki (ML) (schedule depends on participants)

• User Scripts for the Firefox Operator extension - Is this an acceptable project for the nature of this Fest? (SarvenCapadisli)
